We ordered 2 la mian to share- beef la mian and hot and spicy la mian. The beef is so tender and soft and it melts in e mouth. The soup is abit bland for my liking, but it goes very well with the si chuan chilly sauce. SLURRRP!
The best part of e meal are the side dishes. We had:
red bean pancake- they look unappealing but dun be fooled by its appearance! The sticky red bean paste is layered between 2 thin crispy sheets. Served hot!
Pan-fried dumplings (Guo tie)- ok... i think this is e only 1 dish that taste rather ordinary.
Raddish cake- A must-try. E shredded raddish are juicy and shiok. The dish looks lye multi-layered curry puff. Deep-fried but not oily.
Xiao long bao- I love sucking on e delicious sauce inside e little dumplings. Taste lye soup.
Dumplings cooked in special sauce-My favourite. The finely minced pork haf just e right texture. Not too tough and yes, very juicy again.
Food was served within 10 minutes upon ordering despite e overwhelming crowd. Service not bad but i find the ambiance too noisy. Value-for-money...
Too bad no photos!

Hahaha! I can't stop laughing... Wad has lanterns have to do wif us?!

Love letters? These love letters (kueh-neng-gud) are crispy and delicious. Totally traditional cny food passed down from our great-great-great-super great grandparents. =)
Another one of my favourite is Kueh Ba-ru. (It was gone before i can take a snapshot of it) Haha... It was shaped lye a mushroom and is soft and fluffy! E best kueh ba-ru dat i have eaten are bought from a cake-shop in amk centre. Their favour is honeyed kueh ba-ru and they sell fresh ones with their own recipe.
Rating: To-die-for
@ 11:24 pm
Strawberry waffles! *drools* I love this so much but i dunno why they only sell it only during cny. We 3 sisters love it. Couldn't decide btw e strawberry ones or chocolate-favoured. I remembered when i was young, they even has pandan flavoured ones.
Awww... those childhood days. =)
@ 11:10 pm
These pillows-like stuff are pineapple tarts! (Oh well, i mus be too tired dat everything looks like pillows to mi.)
Personally, i prefer e other shape dat look lye a daisy flower cos it looks cuter. Nevertheless, this one dat we bought taste good too. The flour part so soft and e pineapple fillings wasn't too sweet.
E only part which i wasn't very satisfied is dat i prefer e filings to be lye jam, without large bits of pineapple parts. Hee... And e top coat (egg) dat are supposed to look shiny for a nicer appearance kept peeling off.
Not very presentable when serving to guests. =)
@ 11:03 pm
This has got to be my ultimate favourite among all e goodies. Almond cookies. E buttery taste spreads out evenly and e crispy almond bits are roasted to perfection, giving e cookies extra fragrance.
I feel dat nice ones have to be gotten at confectioneries. Those sold at supermarkets, chinatown are too oily and e taste of butter overpowers almond instead of complementing each other. *lousy*
@ 10:50 pm
Kueh Bangkit. Made of coconut, it iterally melts in your mouth. Same as love letters, those dat u get from supermarkets taste juz as nice. =)
@ 10:40 pm
E meat is fragrant and juicy. There's a glossy finish but not too oily. I would say it's well-barbecued. I give it two thumbs up!
@ 10:36 pm
Look... Their packaging is brilliant. 2 pieces are packed in an vacuumed plastic sheet. This ensures e freshness as e baw kua will not become damp after a few days of purchase. And YES, this baw kua taste much nicer than e rest.
I dun exactly favour those deep-fried goodies lye prawn shrimps rolls and bi-feng-wo (bee hives). Hahahaha! Wad a name. =D
Coming up... Xiang ru's 21st birthday celebration. I need to change e lighting cos my face is as oily as baw kua. Tata!

You scored 88% SWEET, 74% CHUNKY, and 74% UNIQUE!
brownie batter ice cream with a rich brownie batter swirl
Mmmm....you are a very sweet mix indeed! You are warm, loving, and caring to all those around you, but you're not boring in the least! You have a wild streak and a creative, unique streak, too. You are a great friend, an interesting person, and you know how to have fun without ending up crouching over a toilet bowl. Nice!
Haha... I knoe this entry contradicts totally wif e previous one. Heh... Ben & Jerry sells e most delicious ice-cream on earth n i wouldn't mind getting a dozen tubs for my 21st b-day.
E results... Well, i dun tink i haf anything CHUNKY to speak wif, so i dun understand where e 74% of chunks comes from. Heh...
But seriously, i tink different group of frens haf different perception of mi. My presumption:
Gers Team thinks weijia is... a Siao cha bo.
5566 n my uni frens thinks weijia is... wad else? Xiong lor.
F4 most probably thinks weijia is... fun-loving?
Haha... Sometimes i think i portray myself differently in front of diff gps. Is this natural? For example, do u behave in e same way in front of ur family and in front of ur frens? Some ppl can be very different one k?!
Alright, these are just some random thoughts. E next post is a happy happy happy post. =)
