In Krabi, their way of life is laid-back and relaxed. E difference btw their way of living and ours is drastic. On our way from e Krabi airport to our resort, we passed by houses... In these houses, e residents laid on their sofa/floor to watch tv. What i mean to say is dat... it gave mi a feeling that e ppl are very peaceful and happy wif life. Something i admire. =)
I also find that despite what we study in s'pore, e women in developing countries/suburbans, are not that reliant on their husbands. Many of e shops are owned by women. And they owned motorcycles which they use to ride home at e end of e day. Like so independent, dun u think?
I seriously find their way of life very appealing. Even though it's not as clean and technologically advanced as s'pore, but at least it's stress-free! At e end of e day, i figured out dat it's probably a trade-off btw wealth and work.
ie: you work ur ass out = u're grumpy = but u're rich (say after fifty yrs)
or
you lead a relaxed life= u're happy= everyday
You may be thinking... how to get pass life if u dun work hard for money? This tend to be e mentality of s'poreans. But for them... Harvesting e jackfruits u planned in ur backyard could mean income after selling em off. (dun haf to pay rent)
I once read in a chinese article abt people born on e 3rd day of e month. It says dat ppl born on this day likes to dream big. They believe in their dreams and are impractical sometimes. I was lye "eh, true leh!" Hahaha...
I asked Mingli whether he can switch to such lifestyle... it doesn't take him long to answer mi. He said he cannot. Awww... he said sth lye he can only live in such conditions temporarily in order for him to find joy in it.
Alright... true true. I agree partially. Haha... I more of prefer a easy life. I told him dat when i'm old, i want to look back at my life and remember e good stuff, not picturing mi working so hard everyday, furrowing my eyebrows in stress.
I hopelessly imagined myself earning big bucks, owning plantations of pineapples or rubber. Heh heh heh... I told myself i will hire workers and not use machineries cos obviously e labour is cheaper. Den i will export to e capital and earn big money. Whee...
In Krabi, e tourists outnumber e locals so much. E ratio is like 3:1.
If e entire stretch of road - 2km is lined wif resturants (every cuisine u can think of) or other shops catered for tourists, obviously they mus be earning alot from tourism. No? *Kok ur head*
I can open a restaurant selling s'pore food. E menu will come from my mum, because obviously i can't cook. Hee... No business? As long as i dun have to pay exorbitant rent, who cares?
I presume e local travel agency are earning e biggest money of all. I'm referring to those dat organise day trips to the near-by islands. And i find dat it is such a joy to bring tourists to see what ur land has to offer. And these tourists came from all parts of e globe. In my speed boat alone, we have a couple from e states, another from Aussie, another from Europe, another from Bangkok, from M'sia. So international...
As u can probably sense, at e end of e day, i still wan money. Hahaha... And a life without internet seems impossible now. Awww... I tell myself i wouldn't mind being a concubine of e king. Yeah!!!
Alright... stop dreaming. U're back in s'pore. *sulk*
